Kimi Antonelli won Saturday's sprint, passing Lewis Hamilton with a different energy-deployment approach. On Sunday he started from pole, but both Ferraris got past at the start and Leclerc led. Hamilton had to serve a time penalty for a jump start.
George Russell lost ground with a slow puncture, and a Virtual Safety Car for Nico Hulkenberg's stopped Audi shuffled the order again. Max Verstappen, running an early-stop strategy, went off at Stowe on Lap 48 and stuck in the gravel. Both Ferraris pitted under the Safety Car while Russell stayed out and moved up to second, and the race finished behind the Safety Car.
A wheel-shield failure and a five-second penalty for off-track excursions left him outside the points. His lead fell to 25.
Russell finished second and Hamilton third, the nine-time Silverstone winner back on the podium at his home race.
Antonelli, Russell and Hamilton are now separated by 32 points heading into the second half of the season.
