What happened

Antonelli started on pole with Max Verstappen alongside. Verstappen attacked through Eau Rouge, Antonelli kept the lead into Les Combes, and Charles Leclerc moved up to second. Behind them, Russell and Lewis Hamilton collided into Les Combes on the first lap. Russell was out and Hamilton went through the gravel, later taking a five-second penalty.

Leclerc pitted under a Virtual Safety Car on Lap 20 and came out in front. Antonelli closed him down and passed him into Les Combes on Lap 34 for his sixth win of the season.

Why it matters

A 45-point cushion again

With Russell out, Antonelli's lead grew to 45 points, now over Hamilton, who recovered to fourth.

Norris limits the damage

He qualified third but started 13th after a grid penalty, and climbed back to seventh.

Audi in the points

Gabriel Bortoleto's eighth place was another score for the new works team.
